Saline Infusion Sonography

• If you’ve ever experienced irregular, heavy or post-menopausal bleeding, struggle with infertility or had an ultrasound and something came up abnormal, or the cavity was not clearly seen, your doctor could order a saline infusion sonography (SIS).
• This special ultrasound gives your doctor a better look at your uterus, especially the cavity.

IUI Treatment

• Intrauterine insemination (IUI), a type of artificial insemination, is a fertility treatment where sperm is placed directly into a person’s uterus.
• Healthcare providers often try IUI before other more invasive and expensive fertility treatments. IUIs can be performed with your partner’s sperm or with donor sperm. A person may take fertility drugs to ensure eggs are released during ovulation.

ICSI Treatment

• ICSI stands for intracytoplasmic sperm injection. The process essentially works as the semen is retrieved from the male, the best sperm selected from it, and then artificially injected into the egg for fertilization. It is one of the most successful methods of artificial treatment for problems related to infertility.
• The success rate for ICSI can range from 80 to 85%. This is to say that about eight out of ten eggs will fertilize normally.

IMSI Treatment

• Intracytoplasmic Sperm Injection is also known as IMSI is another procedure used during the time of IVF. It enables the doctors to differentiate between the structure of the sperm and exclude the suspected variations.
• ICSI is performed where doctors find severe male infertility. It is performed parallel to IVF for a better result. But sometimes the process fails. To enhance a positive outcome doctors use a digital high magnification sperm to improve the process of fertilization and embryo development. This procedure is used for couples with poor results in IVF with ICSI.

PICSI Treatment

• Intracytoplasmic sperm injection (ICSI) is a laboratory procedure which helps infertile couples undergoing IVF in cases of severe male factor infertility. There is now an alternative to this standard ICSI procedure known as the PICSI procedure. Through PICSI an embryologist can determine sperm selection in the same manner as it happens inside the human body.
• PICSI is highly recommended in these particular cases: Previous failure or low fertilisation even after ICSI, Low embryo quality or their failure to develop (not related to poor egg quality), Repeated miscarriages.

Fertility preserving endoscopy surgeries- Hysteroscopy

• A hysteroscopy before IVF treatment is a must. It won’t always be recommended, but have one anyway. A hysteroscopy is the best way to check your uterus is healthy and ready to carry a baby. It can spot things an ultrasound scan can’t.
• A hysteroscopy is a straightforward, if invasive, procedure. For IVF patients, it’s really sensible to have one before treatment. Especially if you’ve had recurrent miscarriages or implantation issues. And don’t rely on an HSG. You’ve got to get up close and personal. For uterine analysis. hysteroscopy is the gold standard.

Laproscopy

• Laparoscopy is a surgical procedure that allows a doctor to see inside the body. When the procedure is part of fertility testing, the doctor is evaluating the structures of the reproductive system, including the ovaries, fallopian tubes, and uterus.
• Laparoscopy can also help when a woman has unexplained infertility. This is the diagnosis when results of other diagnostic tests were normal, but a woman is still unable to conceive.

TESA / PESA

• TESA and PESA are usually carried out when a man’s ability to naturally release sperm via ejaculation is reduced by blockage of the vas deferens or epididymis. Though, PESA involves collecting sperm via a small needle that is inserted into the epididymis while TESA involves collecting sperm via a small needle that is injected directly into the testicles. Some of the conditions that may require TESA and PESA to be performed are discussed below.
